Hop History…
Hop Mortgage is a boutique brokerage in that was started by 3 friends with over 45+ years of mortgage related experience. They saw an opportunity to offer lower interest rates to the consumer by brokering loans directly to wholesale banks. Wholesale banks save on costs by having no retail locations, and hence offering lower rates as compared to the big retail big banks with larger overhead costs.
Tony Szymczak…
If you are reading this, you have likely chosen to work with Loan Officer Tony Szymczak… Tony loves the mortgage industry and enjoys helping people, whether on the job or otherwise. He joined the Hop team at the end of 2019, after taking a hiatus from the mortgage industry for a few years including living and working abroad, and is incredibly happy and grateful to be back. Helping people get into their very first homes or upgrading to the home of their dreams is the most rewarding part of the job and what drives him to go to work every day. Tony always takes a “win/win” approach in business and in his personal life, always wanting the best for not just himself but also for his clients and friends.
When not working, you can typically find him on a tennis court or in the yoga studio trying to preserve his body for more tennis. He also enjoys playing golf terribly.
Tony splits his time between Portland and San Diego, enjoying friends and family in both parts of the west coast.
